Muncie Southside Band Receives Three Gold Ratings | Muncie Free Press
MUNCIE, IN – The Southside High School Concert Band participated in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Concert Band Contest April 20. Band members received Gold Ratings from all three performance judges and a Gold Rating from the sight-reading judge in Group II competition – the highest group in terms of difficulty, according to Joe Poio, SHS band director. The Group I Wind Ensemble will compete for ISSMA State Finals Qualifications at Perry Meridian High School Friday, April 27. Members are (flute) Brittnee Hollowell, Mecca Jensen, Amber King, Jessica LaForce, Ashley Miller; (clarinet) Jamie Getz, Zach Gick, Molley Hamilton, Amber Jones, Marc Kelly, Jennifer King, Courtney McDonald, Cody Norvell, Kasi Pettigrew, Tiffany Sanders, Erica Smith; (bass clarinet) Johniscia McCoy; (bassoon) Kathleen Huff; (alto saxophone) Scott Dodd, Garth McCreery, Sean Sumwalt, Jessica Taylor; (tenor saxophone) Jordan Mace, Josh Taylor; (baritone saxophone) Mark Williams; (french horn and horn supplement) Mitch Bertram, Branden Wilson, Bryce McKee, Josh Osborne; (trumpet) Andrew Fluhr, Jared Green, Tony Hurst, Stephanie Man, Tadaki Nakajima, Dallin Shroyer, Zayne Shroyer, Jon Driscoll, and Lisa Zachary.
