Nanotechnology workshop

Eight Mount Vernon High School nanotechnology students spent the afternoon of June 15, teaching at an Ohio State University nanotechnology workshop for teachers. Levi Fawcett and Phil Horton, recent graduates of MVHS, gave back by explaining about nanowhisker/stain resistant fabrics to the 23 educators in attendance. Gavin Rundell and Nick Robinson, pictured, showed the teachers how the model of the atomic force microscope (which they created out of Legos) worked to create an image. Also, representing MVHS and paying it forward by teaching about nanotechnology, were MacKenzie McClure and Candice James sharing knowledge about nano-sun protection and Codee Boyce with Matt Omahan teaching about photolithography and materials etching.
