Gunn Loads Up for ABA Victory

Brian C. Gunn consistent set two days to win the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series operated by American Bass fishermen, South Carolina 9 Division championship tournament, held August 27 to 28, 2011, on Clarks Hill Lake.

Steve DeBord of Martinez, Georgia, finished with a two day tournament limit weighing 19.18 pounds 10 low. He anchored his catch with a 5.51-books that have won the big tournament fish. Day 1, 8.24 pounds landed Debord. He followed with a 10.94 effort pounds. He went home with $ 1,036 for third place and a bonus of $ 292 lunker.

"I caught most of my fish on a buzzbait at the upper end of the lake," DeBord advised.

Eddie Herlong of Prosperity, SC, landed in fourth place with nine bass is 18.70 pounds. He grabbed £ 5.78 on day 1 and 12.92 pounds on day 2. To complete the top five boaters, Donald Hinson of Lugoff, SC, took 10 bass weighing 18.44 pounds. He grabbed weight of 7.58 and £ 10.86.

In the Co-angler division, Dan J. Martin of Bluffton, South Carolina, has six bass weighing 13.32 pounds. Lead after Day 1, he caught 5.81 pounds. On day 2, he caught 7.51 pounds, the biggest bag one day in the division.

"I caught my fish on a crankbait and a creature bait," said Martin."In the morning I started with topwater poppers and moat. Most of my fish came out on the rocky points a day. The second day I caught the wooden fish.
